Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the Department for Education to schools in England. It is designed to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and help close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
Who is it for?
Schools receive Pupil Premium funding for pupils who:
- Are currently eligible for Free School Meals
- Have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years
- Are looked-after or previously looked-after children
- Have parents serving in the armed forces (Service Pupil Premium)
How is the funding used?
At our school, Pupil Premium funding is carefully planned to ensure it has the greatest impact. It may be used to provide:
- Additional teaching support or small group interventions
- Access to educational resources and enrichment activities
- Pastoral support and wellbeing provision
- Help with school trips, uniform, or extracurricular opportunities
We regularly review the impact of our spending to ensure that all eligible pupils are supported to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
